University of Miami Health System Launches Concierge Medicine Program in Palm Beach

The University of Miami Health System has announced the launch of the UHealth Premier Concierge Medicine Program in Palm Beach, which will be located at 218 Royal Palm Way. The practice will include internal medicine physicians and a convenient on-site laboratory to start.

“Our concierge medicine program will help us make UHealth a leading destination for top-quality personalized health care with a global reach,” said Edward Abraham, M.D., executive vice president for health affairs and CEO of UHealth. “The expansion of our program brings the clinical excellence and innovation of UHealth physicians further into the Palm Beach community, increasing access for our patients in a setting that is closer to their homes.”

The launch of the University of Miami Health System’s Concierge Medicine Program in Palm Beach was announced by Dr. Abraham at an intimate gathering hosted by Palm Island residents Janet and Mark Levy, celebrating Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center’s recent National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation.

“As a Palm Beach resident and UHealth patient, I am thrilled at the launch of this program in my community,” said Janet Levy. “A concierge medical practice will allow me and my family to take advantage of all the wonderful services UHealth has to offer not only in one location, but also with access to a UHealth physician 24 hours a day.”

The practice will offer the expertise of academic medicine to the communities of Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Shores and surrounding areas, with access to highly trained physicians from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center; Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, ranked the number one eye care institute in the country by U.S. News & World Report; the Ear, Nose, and Throat Department, ranked number nine in the country; the University of Miami Sports Medicine Institute; cardiology; neurology; urology; endocrinology, and a host of other specialties.

Services covered by UHealth Premier include a comprehensive annual physical exam, little to no wait times, same-day or next-day appointments, health care navigation support for referrals, and expedited email and phone contact with a UHealth Premier physician 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The smaller concierge practice panel and substantial electronic communication translate into easier scheduling of appointments.

“This smaller and more connected practice model builds stronger doctor-patient relationships, providing health care in a more efficient, effective manner that benefits our patients,” said Dr. Abraham.
