Dr. Steven L. Cohn’s New Book Hits No. 1 on Amazon

Steven L. Cohn, M.D., professor emeritus in the Department of Medicine and former medical director of the UHealth Preoperative Assessment Center and the UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital medical consultation service, edited and co-authored (7 of the 42 chapters) a recently published book on perioperative medicine that is selling well.

In fact, Amazon reported that Decision Making in Perioperative Medicine: Clinical Pearls — published March 19 by McGraw Hill in conjunction with American College of Physicians — immediately became its #1 new release in internal medicine.

During the past year, Dr. Cohn also published two articles: “Cardiac Risk Assessment Calculators: Utility and Limitations,” which appeared in the Winter 2021 issue of International Anesthesiology Clinics, and “Clinical Progress Notes: Myocardial Injury After Noncardiac Surgery,” which appeared in the July 1, 2020 issue of the Journal of Hospital Medicine.

A third article, “Update in Perioperative Cardiac Medicine,” will be published in April in the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine.

“I’m still academically active, despite retirement!” Dr. Cohn said.
