Carlos Correcha-Price to Head UHealth and Miller School Marketing and Communications

Carlos Correcha-Price, a senior professional with more than 18 years’ experience in strategic communications and marketing, will join UHealth – University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine as chief marketing and communications officer on December 5.

Correcha-Price comes to the University of Miami from the health tech industry, having served as chief marketing and communications officer for eMed Digital Healthcare, a leading digital diagnostics company.

Prior to eMed, Correcha-Price held senior leadership positions at two of the world’s top marketing communications firms, where he was responsible for strategic communications, public affairs, crisis management, image, and reputation for a wide portfolio of health care, consumer, technology, logistics, and entertainment brands.

“Carlos’ wealth of experience will be a vital asset to UHealth and the Miller School,” said Rudy Fernandez, executive vice president for external affairs and strategic initiatives and chief of staff to President Julio Frenk. “He brings unique perspectives that will advance our marketing and communications goals around research, education, and the continued expansion of access to our academic-based health care, both in South Florida’s communities and globally.”

Correcha-Price earned an undergraduate degree in liberal arts at the University of Central Florida. He began his career at Edelman, where he worked for 16 years, serving in various leadership roles in Miami, Washington, D.C., São Paulo, Brazil, and Bogotá, Colombia. Correcha-Price sits on the board of IntraHealth International and IntraHealth Kenya and is the recipient of numerous professional awards.

“Miami’s ascendance to the national stage as one of the country’s most prolific cities relies heavily on a world-class health care and education system,” Correcha-Price said. “I hope to build on the progress already achieved, running an agile and fully integrated communications and marketing function that expands the reputation of UHealth and the Miller School as one of the nation’s most advanced academic medical centers.”
